How does digital ceramic printing differ from applying a coating?

Digital printing applies ceramic ink directly onto the glass surface using inkjet technology, producing patterns, colors, gradients, or branding elements that are then fired into the glass during tempering so the print becomes a permanent surface rather than a coating that can peel or fade. This differs from screen printing, which is limited to flat colors and simpler patterns; digital printing supports variable imagery across a production run, including project-specific patterns that a fixed screen cannot reproduce. KH Glass Group operates digital ceramic printing on site in Çatalca, feeding directly into its tempering line so printed panels are fired and finished within the same facility. Typical applications include facade accent panels, privacy patterns for office interiors, and branded glazing for commercial fit-outs. Because the ink is fused into the glass surface during tempering, printed panels carry the same durability profile as the base tempered product and do not require separate maintenance.
