What happens during the cutting stage?
Cutting is the first step in glass processing: sizing raw float glass sheets into the panel dimensions a project requires before any secondary process begins. KH Glass Group runs its cutting lines inside a 17,000 m² facility in Çatalca, Istanbul, feeding an annual production capacity of 2,000,000 m² across laminated, enamelled, tempered, and curved glass. Because cutting happens on site, dimensions can be adjusted against the same technical drawing used for later edge processing, tempering, or lamination, reducing the risk of mismatched panels reaching downstream stations. Cutting tolerances are set against the product standard that applies to the finished glass type, whether that is EN 12150 for tempered glass or EN 14449 for laminated glass, so a panel entering the process chain already meets the dimensional basis for certification. For architects and fabricators working from a cut list, this means order quantities across mixed glass types can be produced within one scheduling cycle instead of across separate cutting suppliers.
